The dyno is built in a versitile van but it is very capable of doing the job, the van itself is a hi top lwb transit, this means that the call out fee is as competitive as possible.
With the introduction of production injected motorbikes at the start of the millenium, it has been imperitive that the fuel map is fully checked on a dyno and in nearly all cases altered whenever you change the air filter and silencer.
In the now old carburettored days you could just about get away with changing the exhaust whilst leaving the fuelling as the operating window of a carburettor is so wide, but the injected system is so precise. This means that more often than not, if you change the silencer without changing your fueling to suit, you run a high risk of running your machine on the lean side of the prefered AFR (air fuel ratio). This can damage your engine!
There are many systems that allow you to change your fuel mapping, the most common in the UK is without doubt the Power Commander from Dynojet, Dynojet is a company from the USA and they have a strong hold in the UK from their years of clever and intense advertising.
However in mainland Europe this is not the case, the big guns there are a company called DimSport and their product is called Rapid Bike. The Rapid Bike system has been run on the LCR Moto GP bike!
